Camps & Workshops

Educational workshops and camps for all ages are an important part of the Historical Society of Cheshire County’s programming series throughout the year.

 

May 22, 2016.  Workshop: Open Hearth Cooking.  Ages 13+
Work with 18th century re-enactor Priscilla Borden at her home in Marlborough and learn to make a Colonial meal from start to finish.

June 22-24, 2016. Teacher Workshop-The Civil War– perfect for grade school and middle school teachers.  See flyer

July 5-8, 2016. Engineering LEGO Camp. Ages 5-7 and 7-12
The Historical Society is offering engineering LEGO camps for two different age groups.  See Flyer

July 18-22, 2016. 18th Century Kids Camp  Grades 3-6
Become a child of the 1770s.  Participate in activities, meet people as they travel through town, and make crafts to bring home.  See Flyer

comic squareAugust 1-5, and August 15-19, 2016.  Civil War Comics Camp.  Grades 6-8.  Up to 20 middle school students from the Monadnock region will receive scholarships to attend this free camp to work with NH cartoonist Marek Bennett t0 create a historical webcomic using the diary of Keene’s Civil War soldier 2nd Lieut. Charles Wilcox. (ask your school principal about this unique opportunity. Deadline for nominations: May 25).
