Tours, Field Trips, & Hikes

The Historical Society of Cheshire County offers a variety of field trips, hikes, and both private and public tours throughout the year.

Cheshire County Experience School Tours– School tours of the Wyman Tavern, Historical Society, and Horatio Colony House Museum can be scheduled in May and June for all grades.  Visit three historic properties within walking distance of each other.  Learn more…

Group Tours– Private group tours of the Society’s special exhibit and/or the Wyman Tavern can be scheduled by calling the main office at 860/352-1895.

Gallery Walks- The Society offers free gallery walks of its special exhibits each month.  No reservations are required.  Check our current special exhibit and schedule of gallery walks on the events page.

Field Trips- Members of the Historical Society receive advanced notice about special field trips throughout  the year.  Annual field trips have included a tour of Rudyard Kipling’s home in Dummerston, VT, bus trips to see the Red Sox , tours of the White Mountains, genealogy tours to Boston, and other trips that have related with exhibits.

Hikes and Walking Tours- periodically Historical Society staff lead historic hikes around the Monadnock region.  Check our calendar of events for any upcoming hikes or history walking tours.
