Film 5: Flannels to Fuses

For over 100 years, textile mills were the foundation of the industrial economy in the Monadnock region. These were the cotton and woolen mills located at various sites such as Harrisville, Jaffrey, Troy and Keene. This film traces the history of the textile mills, and features reflections of local residents who recall the sounds of power looms and their great impact on the region. Interviews with Ernest L. Bell III, John Colony III, Joseph Descoteaux, Ray Eaves, John Faulkner, Joslin Kimball Frank, Polly Kendall, George Kingsbury, Jean Lane, Emile Legere, David Proper, Rita Rathburn and Marjorie Willimas.
