Hands-on History Day Camp: Colonial Kitchen

July 17 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Registration and tickets are required: Click here for tickets – Eventbrite

How did people get and keep food fresh before grocery stores and refigerators? The Hands-on History Day Camp offers an opportunity for children entering grades 3-5 to delve into that history in an interactive way. This full day experience, led by Museum Educators, will demonstrate the history of how people in the 1700s prepared and preserved their food. Students will practice techniques such as churning butter, making teas, and pickling, and go home with materials to continue the fun.

Historical Society of Cheshire County Members- Contact Michelle Walker, Director of Education (mwalker@hsccnh.org), for a code to receive $10 off your registration!

This program has been generously sponsored in part by The Putnam Foundation and Fenton Family Dealerships.
