Job Description
 
Primary Objective:  To provide the leadership to establish the Jonathan Daniels Center for Social Responsibility (JDC) as an entity which fulfills its stated mission, which reads as follows: “Inspired by the legacy of Jonathan Daniels, the Jonathan Daniels Center for Social Responsibility provides opportunities to learn, reflect, and be moved to action in support of human rights and social responsibility.” 
The Project Manager will work with the JDC Committee to develop a plan and budget for continued and sustainable operation of the Center.  This is a 15-month project, with the potential that the position may continue beyond the 15-month period. 
The Project Manager will be a part-time employee of the Historical Society of Cheshire County (HSCC) and will report to its Executive Director.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Administrative Functions
-Carry out strategic plan initiatives for continued and sustainable operations for the Center beyond the 15-month project.
-Prepare an operating budget for HSCC board approval and maintain financial records
-Prepare Monthly JDC Committee agenda with committee chair
-Maintain monthly written communications with Board of Trustees of HSCC.
Establish Physical Space for Center
-Work with the JDC Committee and the Facilities  Committee of the Historical Society of Cheshire County (HSCC) to plan and implement the use of the physical space for JDC.
  
Education and Marketing
-Work with Historical Society Director of Education on educational outreach elements of the strategic plan.  Such elements may include public programming, curriculum development, education packets for schools, and exhibits.
-Complete development and implementation of JDC website.
Skills Needed for this Position
      -Project management, planning, oral and written communication, fundraising
knowledge, website experience, entrepreneurial spirit.
