Job Description

The Historical Society of Cheshire County seeks a paid student intern for its historic Wyman Tavern Museum from mid-May through August 2019 for 15 hours per week.  S/he will be responsible for leading tours of the tavern during its regular open hours every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  S/he will also support and assist the Director of Education with historical research and program development while tours are not in session.  This will include: assisting with school tours in May and June; participating in the annual 18th century festival in June and the Society’s 18th century kid’s camp in July; and staffing the Society’s annual Brew Fest in August.  In addition to tavern programming, the intern will help to staff the Society’s Bruder House which acts as an admissions center for the tavern.

Intern will be expected to commit to a regular work schedule, be punctual and engaging, answer visitor questions, and attend training sessions and museum meetings as needed.
