“Celebrating the Lowly Brick”

April 25, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Marlborough Historical Society Program — “Celebrating the Lowly Brick”

The Marlborough Historical Society will hold its next meeting  & program on Tuesday April 25, 7:00 PM at the Marlborough Community House, 160 Main St in Marlborough. Following a short business meeting there will be a special program, “Celebrating the Lowly Brick” which will be presented by Historical Society of Cheshire County Trustee, Jim Rousmaniere, a writer and former journalist who retired from the editorship of The Keene Sentinel in 2013. His presentation will  shed light on the profusion of brick structures in this area in what was one of the three most productive brick-making regions of the state during the 19th century. The talk also draws attention to evolutions of mortar — a substance that, like brick itself, has a more dynamic history than most people expect. Call 876-3980 for additional information.
