2017 School Award- Seeking Nominations

The Historical Society of Cheshire County is pleased to award a certificate of achievement to any classroom in any Cheshire County school that has used primary sources related to local history in creative and unique ways.
The Society strives to collect, preserve, and communicate the history of Cheshire County, New Hampshire, with an emphasis on providing a space for youth and adults to engage in learning local history using historic photographs, documents, and artifacts.
In 2016, Miss Emilia Whippie Prior’s 5th/6th grade class in Nelson, NH, received the first annual Communicating the Past award for their Blizzard of 1888 creative writing project involving the use of local newspapers, diaries, photographs and objects.
Nomination forms are available on the Historical Society’s website at www.hsccnh.org. The 2017 recipient will receive a certificate which will be presented to the students by Society staff as well as print and online media recognition.
