What started out as a class at Berklee College of Music in 2011, has become one of the hippest new global acts that has emerged from Boston: The Berklee Indian Ensemble.

With high profile collaborations featuring artists like A.R. Rahman, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Raghu Dixit, and more, the ensemble has played sold out shows at premier venues including Boston Symphony Hall in the US, and the Bengaluru Ganesh Utsav (a festival catering to over 5,000 fans) in India.

The group is currently touring the United States with a smaller avatar of 14 musicians, bringing to fore a new Indian sound that melds classical, folk, Sufi, and contemporary Indian music, with influences ranging from hip-hop and jazz, to Middle Eastern and African flavors.
