On February 16, 2026, the Historical Society of Cheshire County hosted Keene State College Professor Rodger Martin and the students in his Creative Writing Non-Fiction class. Their task: Explore the HSCC headquarters and find one historical artifact to use as the foundation of an essay. After making their choices, students worked with Professor Martin and Director of Education Michelle Walker to research the history of their artifacts and inspire their essays.

Now the moment has come for these students to share their stories! Please join us next Wednesday March 25th at 2:00 pm in the Putnam Exhibit Hall as Professor Martin’s class shares the essays that were inspired by our collection.
