Surry Village Charter School Time Capsule Ceremony

Surry Village Charter School (former Tilden Building), 146 School Street, Keene
Surry Village Charter School invites the community to a historic celebration as students, alumni, and families come together to bury a time capsule that will be opened in 2075. Designed by students, the capsule will be sealed and placed in the school garden during a heartfelt ceremony featuring student readings, a dedication, and shared memories of 2025.
The event is free and open to the public. Guests can explore a one-day exhibit of memorabilia from both SVCS and the former Tilden School and take a brief tour of the school. After the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to continue the evening just down the road at the Keene Public Library for a special presentation by Historical Society of Cheshire County’s Senior Historian Alan Rumrill.

Surry Village Charter School invites you to join Historical Society of Cheshire County’s Senior Historian Alan Rumrill, for an engaging talk exploring the evolution of education and schools in Cheshire County from one-room schoolhouses to today’s innovative learning spaces. Journey through our county’s educational history through lively stories highlighting the people and events that shaped our community’s schools.
Doors open at 5:00 PM with a welcome reception. The presentation begins at 5:30 PM, followed by a Q&A. The event is free and open to all.
