That is a direct quote from the early town records at a time when there was indeed considerable confusion, controversy and hard feelings in the infant community of Packersfield. It is a fascinating tale of hard work that made the new town in the wilderness survive.
This presentation is part of the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library Summer Forum. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to mingle over refreshments after the program.
